TRPC (Tab Room on the PC)

 

TRPC schedules and tabulates debate tournaments. This free software is used in hundreds of debate tournaments including the intercollegiate National Debate Tournament and numerous high school tournaments (The Barkley Forum of Emory University, Wake Forest, Greenhill, Heart of Texas, The Glenbrooks, Montgomery Bell Academy, Florida Blue Key, the Tournament of Champions, many in-state invitational tournaments and a majority of state tournaments).


Capabilities: TRPC is designed for policy, Lincoln Douglas, public forum, and various parliamentary debate formats. The software can manage up to 400 schools, 400 contestants, 400 judges and 400 rooms. Judge assignment choices are random, judge ranking, and mutual judge preference. Thirteen different tie-breaking choices are available.


Computer operating systems? TRPC will work with any Windows operating system from Windows98 through Vista.


What is the difference between the full installation copy and the update? You will need the full installation copy if you have never before installed TRPC on your computer. If you have already installed TRPC, you will need only the current update.


If you download the full installation version of TRPC the self-extracting archive is called TRPC99.exe. After downloading this to your computer, double-click the file to extract the installation files. Then double-click the file called “Setup.exe” and follow the installation instructions. If you download the update version of TRPC the self-extracting archive is called TRPC40.exe. By double-clicking this file you will automatically replace the TRPC operating system located at c:\Program Files\TRPC\TRPC.exe.
