undergraduate honors project
EXPLORATION AND APPLICATIONS OF THE CALCULUS II CONCEPTS

Brian and Andrew's research paper has been published in Rose-Hulman Undergraduate Math Journal!

Beyond the standard class syllabus, this honors study includes the following items:

1. Theoretical exploration of the differentiation and integrations. In particular, challenging problems associated with the volumn calculations will be studied and discussed with Professor Sheng.
2. Computational experiments will be carried out in special topics related to the calculus I materials. This exploration may be extended further beyond the course contents, depending on the progress and interests of the student.
3. Four specially designed study sheets will be given by Professor Sheng to fulfill the honors study.
4. An one-hour meeting per week with Professor Sheng for discussions and keeping good progresses in the study throughout spring 2006.
5. A final report on the study will be documented. It should lead the student to a more aggressive undergraduate research project in the near future.
